Ask AI Now Available in the Developer Portal

Tenable is pleased to announce the addition of the Ask AI feature in the Developer Portal. This new AI-powered assistant enhances the user experience within the Developer Portal and helps users quickly find answers, generate code snippets, and understand complex concepts. The Ask AI feature is available in both the documentation section and the API explorer.

Key Features:

  • Contextual Search: Provides intelligent, context-aware responses based on the current documentation page, helping users find relevant information efficiently.
  • Code Generation: Provides code examples tailored to specific API endpoints or workflows, reducing development time.
  • Concept Clarification: Explains technical terms and concepts clearly and concisely.

The Ask AI feature integrates with multiple large language models (LLMs), including:

  • ChatGPT: OpenAI's powerful language model can answer user questions, explain concepts, and generate code examples specific to Tenable's APIs. ChatGPT excels at providing detailed explanations and step-by-step guidance based on the documentation.
  • Claude: Anthropic's conversational AI assistant can provide nuanced, helpful responses to questions about the documentation. Claude is particularly skilled at understanding context and providing thoughtful explanations of complex technical concepts.
  • Copilot: Microsoft's AI assistant can generate code samples and implementation suggestions based on Tenable's API documentation. Copilot combines the power of GPT-4 with Microsoft's extensive development knowledge to help you quickly implement Tenable's APIs in your projects with syntactically correct, best-practice code.

In addition to the Ask AI feature, Tenable has also implemented an llms.txt file within the Developer Portal. This file serves as a machine-readable index of our documentation, enabling large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Claude to better understand and interact with our API docs. By providing a structured overview of our documentation, the llms.txt file enhances the discoverability and usability of our resources through AI tools.
