pyTenable 26.10.1 Released

Tenable has released pyTenable version 26.10.1. This release adds support for recent API changes, most notably property selection on the vulnerability and Web App Scanning export endpoints, resolves defects across several packages, and replaces the recorded HTTP fixtures in the test suite with response mocking.

Added

  • Added support for selecting which properties a vulnerability export returns, through the properties keyword on exports.vulns(). For the values each export accepts and the properties records always contain, see Select Vulnerability Export Properties. (#1027)
  • Added the same property selection to Web App Scanning findings exports. (#1033)
  • Added plugin output, potential software vulnerability, and zero-day options to vulnerability exports. (#1037)
  • Added support for the Recast Rules API, including Create recast rule, Update recast rule and Delete recast rule. (#1024)
  • Added the started_from and started_to filters to List scans. (#1039)
  • Added concurrent update and hybrid scanning settings to agent_config.edit(), matching the options available on Update agent configuration. (#1043)
  • Added successor user, user role, and SAML-managed group options to the users and groups modules. (#1041)
  • Added a plural delete_agents() alias to agent groups for Tenable Nessus. (#1022)
  • Added a Tenable Nessus quick-start example to the documentation. (#1023)

Changed

  • Replaced the VCR-based test suite with response mocking, which reduced the suite's runtime by more than half. (#1046)
  • Refactored the scan download and vulnerability export download examples, and updated the example requirements files. (#1028)
  • Updated project workflows and metadata files. (#1021)

Fixed

  • Connection error exceptions no longer include API keys. (#1028)
  • Corrected the default session logout mechanism, and resolved export filter, iterator, and filter encoding defects across several packages. (#1031)
  • Corrected a potential relative path escape, and added URI scrubbing for path variables in the Tenable Nessus scans module. (#1028)
  • The plugin rule edit method no longer raises an erroneous error. (#1028)
  • Resolved issues identified by internal security review. (#1044)
  • Corrected developer portal links throughout the SDK, and added links for endpoints that were previously unlinked. (#1029)

Removed

  • Removed absolute URL handling from the vendored RESTfly library, which no longer issues requests to a host other than the configured base URL. (#1028)
  • pytest-vcr is no longer required to run the test suite. (#1046)
