Disclaimer

The endpoints defined in the API Explorer are supported for day-to-day use and will be maintained for backwards compatibility in the future. However, you should understand the following:

  • Certain endpoints are marked "deprecated" where a later version of the endpoint is available. Tenable recommends using the latest version of an endpoint, because support for deprecated endpoints is limited.
  • Endpoints excluded from this documentation (for example, prefixed with "private") are considered experimental and subject to change. Use them at your own risk.
  • Tenable performs rate limiting on API requests to ensure that all customers experience the same level of service. For more information, see Rate Limiting.
  • Tenable performs concurrency limiting on some API export requests to ensure expected performance levels. You can have a maximum of two or three active concurrent export requests per customer instance or container depending on which endpoint you are using. Concurrency limits for specific endpoints are subject to change. For more information, see Concurrency Limiting.
